How many times have you heard that you need to network more? How many times have you wanted to say something not very nice in response?  I know I certainly did, until I figured out how to put my networking efforts to good use.

You are the leader and you cast a shadow in everything you do, write, or say. If you are always five minutes late to meetings, suddenly the whole company is five minutes late. If you are short-tempered, brash, or intimidating, people avoid  contact or communication with you unless it’s necessary.

As an entrepreneur, flattery can be hard to find. Its not easy to know the difference between flattery and a compliment.

We all have secrets -- ways we do things, how we make something work, or how we keep ourselves strong. Instead of gloating about our little secrets to success, we can share them with our colleagues and friends who might find them useful.

My phone buzzed. I looked down to see the text. “RED FLAG,” it read. A woman I’d been mentoring for the last year or so sent it.
