How do you know what you don’t know that you need to know – how do you even know what to ask? All of us face this dilemma when we change jobs, start a company, or now move from working in an office to working virtually at home or vice versa or being laid off – it’s hard, confusing, and scary. Still, it is also where opportunities show up if we can see and seize them.

After working in the corporate world for 25+ years and having founded companies and sold companies and, yes, even shut a couple down plus coaching and funding many more,  I should know everything; but oh, the things I learned that I didn’t even know I didn’t know!!! I am still learning important lessons about life, building a successful business, and nurturing innovation. Some may say this is no time to be thinking about starting a business with our world turned upside down. Still, if you look back over time, many of our nation’s most enduring companies and important innovations were born in a down economy. Here are five such successful companies: NerdWallet, Uber, Groupon, Venmo and WhatsApp. The all started when economic times were tough. To me, these examples show that this can be the best time to launch, expand or re-invent a business. A recession can be your best asset in building a lean but strong company. I want to help you reach your goals / turn your dreams into reality/help you navigate the process - guide you through the highs and lows, from your idea to your first sale to your first major mistake. Be a sounding board.
